OH, how I LOVE Acapulco! It has been forever since I've really posted anything and so many things have happened. I will leave you with a few pictures to tell the story of the amazing amounts of love bestowed upon me this summer, as well as the opportunities I've been given to love and serve. Since I have last written I have been to Casa Hogar, a Christian orphanage in Acapulco, twice and am pretty sure that I now have a parasite or something
. No matter how much I eat I con
stantly feel starved and my head is hurting...maybe I will go to the doctor...or maybe I will just leave it alone so I can continue eating whatever I want all the time. :-) The two little Mexican girls in the pictures are the two precious children that I sponsor at the orphanage. Yarey is six and Jazmin is nine. I can't believe how much I fell in love with them. I so wish that I could be with them on a more consistent basis to shower them with the love and affection that they crave so deeply. Since I am tragically not able to I am forced to entrust them to the Lord, who cares for them far more than I ever could. All the parasites in the world coudn't keep me from returning to Acapulco the moment a new opportunity arises!
The big 29 happened for me during these past couple of months as well. This was the best birthday year of my life. My friends and family showered me with so much love and affection that I couldn't help but feel like my life was truly being celebrated! My roommates served me all day long, making me breakfast, lunch and a fantastically delicious cake - yellow cake with chocolate icing, my favorite! My sweet friend/ big sister made a special trip out to my house just to be with me
and give me a perfectly, sweet card and an unexpected and truly delightful gift to banana republic, one of my favorite stores! Finally, several of my friends took me out to Bonefish grill for dinner and came back to my house for cake and "fun." I am so blessed by the relationships in my life right now. Thank you to all of you who helped to make the entire day one big celebration! Sorry boys, I didn't get any pictures of you guys. Someone needs to email me some.
Next on July 11, my little sister, Stephanie had another
baby. My new nephew, Ethan entered the world. He was almost nine pounds! The whole family spent the entire day at the hospital with a very tired mommy!
At some point in the day my five year old niece took my camera and took a zillion pics with my camera...here is one...
Last, but certainly not least was a fun filled week I spent at Camp Kulaqua, (the very place where I first rea
lly encountered my Lord Jesus Christ),with my middle schoolers. I love the energy and excitement they bring to my life and that camp brings to their lives!
Needless to say, this has been a pretty freaking awesome summer! I am not ready for it to end. I don't want to go back to the structure and grind of the school year, but we all must. We can't just have fun all of the time...right??? Cuz then we wouldn't really appreciate the fun...in fact it probably wouldn't even be fun anymore...

Cool! Glad you went to Mehico giving to the kids.
